“புவி வெப்பமயமாதல் காரணமாக, சமீபகாலங்களில் அடிக்கடி பூச்சித் தாக்குதல்கள் ஏற்பட்டு வருகிறது. 2019-20 ஆம் ஆண்டில், 47.66 கோடி ரூபாய் செலவில் அரசால் எடுக்கப்பட்ட சீரிய முயற்சிகளால் தமிழ்நாட்டில் அமெரிக்கன் படைப்புழுத் தாக்குதல் திறம்பட கட்டுப்படுத்தப்பட்டது. அமெரிக்க படைப்புழுத் தாக்குதலுக்கு நிரந்தர தீர்வு காண்பதற்கான ஆராய்ச்சி மற்றும் மேம்பாடு தொடர்பாக ஐந்து கோடி ரூபாய் நிதியொதுக்கீட்டில் சிறப்புத் திட்டம் தொடங்கப்பட்டு, 2020-21 ஆம் ஆண்டில் 20 கோடி ரூபாயில் பூச்சி மேலாண்மை நடவடிக்கைகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்படும். நடப்பு ரபி பருவத்தில், நெற்பயிரில் ஆனைக் கொம்பன் ஈ மற்றும் புகையான் பூச்சித் தாக்குதலும், தென்னையில் “ரூகோஸ் சுழல் வெள்ளை ஈ' தாக்குதலும் உடனடியாகக் கண்டறியப்பட்டு, அவற்றின் பரவுதலைக் தடுக்கவும், தேவை ஏற்படின், பாதிக்கப்பட்ட விவசாயிகளுக்கு இழப்பீடு வழங்கவும் நடவடிக்கை மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டு வருகிறது.”
