“தமிழ் அறிஞர்களின் கருத்தின் அடிப்படையில் 2009 ஆம் ஆண்டிலிருந்து, தைத்திங்கள் முதல் நாளை, தமிழ்ப் புத்தாண்டாக அறிவித்துக் கொண்டாடி வருகிறோம். உலகத் தமிழ்ச் செம்மொழி முதல் மாநாடு கோயம்புத்தூரில் 2010 ஜுன் திங்கள் 23 முதல் 27ஆம் நாள் வரை சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றது. 2010-2011 ஆம் நிதியாண்டில் இதுவரை 28 தமிழ் அறிஞர்களின் நூல்கள் நாட்டுடைமையாக்கப்பட்டு ரூபாய் 194 இலட்சம் பரிவுத் தொகை அவர்களுக்காக வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. புலவர் சோ.கோ. சோமசுந்தரம் அவர்களின் குடும்பத்திற்கு ரூபாய் 10 இலட்சம் நிதியுதவி வழங்கப்பட்டது. செந்தமிழ்ச் சொற்பிறப்பியல் அகரமுதலித் திட்டத்தின் கீழ், திட்டமிடப்பட்ட 31 தொகுதிகளில் இதுவரை 30 தொகுதிகள் வெளியிடப்பட்டுள்ளன. இந்து சமயம் மற்றும் அறநிலையத் துறை”
