“மாநிலத்தின் பால் மற்றும் இறைச்சி உற்பத்தியை உயர்த்திட தீவிர முயற்சிகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டுள்ள நிலையில், தமிழகத்தின் மேற்கு மாவட்டங்கள் கோழி வளர்ப்புத் தொழிலில் பெற்றுள்ள வெற்றியை மற்ற பகுதிகளுக்கும் கொண்டு செல்ல இந்த அரசு விரும்புகிறது. ஆண்டொன்றிற்கு 1,080 கோடி முட்டைகளை உற்பத்தி செய்து, நாட்டின் முட்டை உற்பத்தியில் தமிழகம் இரண்டாவது இடத்தை வகிக்கிறது. மேலும், நாட்டின் கோழிகளின் எண்ணிக்கையில் 17.71 சதவீதம் தமிழகத்தில் உள்ளது. கிராமப்புற ஏழை மக்களுக்கு, சுற்றுப்புற சூழலுக்குக் குந்தகமின்றி அதிக வருவாயை ஈட்டித் தரக்கூடிய, இலாபகரமான தொழிலாக கோழி வளர்ப்புத் தொழில் உருவெடுத்து வருகிறது. இதனைக் கருத்தில் கொண்டு, வணிக ரீதியில் நாட்டுக் கோழி வளர்ப்பதை ஊக்குவிக்கும் வகையில், மாநிலம் முழுவதும் சிறப்புத் திட்டம் ஒன்று செயல்படுத்தப்படும். மேலும், நாமக்கல் பகுதியில் இருப்பதை போன்று, சங்கரன்கோயில் மற்றும் விழுப்புரம் பகுதிகளிலும், கறிக்கோழி மற்றும் முட்டைக் கோழி வளர்ப்பினை ஊக்குவித்து, கோழிப் பண்ணைகளை அமைக்க உரிய நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுக்கப்படும்.”
