“ஒகேனக்கல் குடிநீர் வழங்கல் மற்றும் ஃப்ளுரோசிஸ் குறைப்புத் திட்டத்தை வெற்றிகரமாக செயல்படுத்தியதால், இப்பிரச்சினையால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட தருமபுரி, கிருஷ்ணகிரி மாவட்டப் பகுதிகளில் வாழும் மக்கள் பெரும் பயன் அடைந்துள்ளனர். வேலூர் மாநகராட்சி மற்றும் அதைச் சுற்றியுள்ள பகுதிகளுக்குமான கூட்டுக் குடிநீர் திட்டப்பணிகளும் விரைவாக நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டு வருகின்றன. ஆரணி, திண்டிவனம், திருவத்திபுரம், பெரியகுளம் ஆகிய நான்கு நகராட்சிகளில் வாழும் 2.17 இலட்சம் மக்களுக்குப் பயனளிக்கும் தனிக் குடிநீர் வழங்கும் திட்டங்களை 117.69 கோடி ரூபாய் செலவில் செயல்படுத்திடவும் உத்தேசிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. மதுரை, விருதுநகர், சிவகங்கை, நாகப்பட்டினம், வேலூர், சேலம், திருப்பூர் கோயம்புத்தூர், கடலூர், புதுக்கோட்டை, தஞ்சாவூர் ஆகிய மாவட்டங்களில் செயல்படுத்தப்பட்டு வரும் முக்கியக் கூட்டுக்குடிநீர்த் திட்டங்களுக்காக, 2014-2015 ஆம் ஆண்டு வரவு-செலவுத் திட்டத்தில் 745.67 கோடி ரூபாய் ஒதுக்கீடு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. நகர்ப்புர வீட்டுவசதி”
