“கடந்த ஐந்தாண்டுகளில் மட்டும் கல்லூரிகளில் 2,594 பேராசிரியர் பணியிடங்கள் நிரப்பப்பட்டுள்ளன. அரசு கலை மற்றும் அறிவியல் கல்லூரிகளில் ரூபாய் 64.58 கோடி செலவில், 1142 வகுப்பறைகள், பல்வேறு புதிய பொறியியல் கல்லூரிகளுக்கு ரூபாய் 93 கோடி செலவில் நிரந்தரக் கட்டடங்கள் எனப் பல்வேறு வசதிகள், உயர் கல்வி நிறுவனங்களில் ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன. இத்தகைய முயற்சிகளின் காரணமாக 2005-2006 ஆம் ஆண்டில் கலை மற்றும் அறிவியல் கல்லூரிகள், பொறியியல் கல்லூரிகள், பல்தொழில்நுட்பக் கல்லூரிகள் ஆகியவற்றில் சேர்ந்த மாணவர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை 2,82,802 லிருந்து 2010-2011 ஆம் ஆண்டில் 6,09,421 ஆக உயர்ந்துள்ளது. இந்த அரசு உயர் கல்விக்கெனக் கடந்த ஐந்து ஆண்டுகளில் ரூபாய் 6,414 கோடி செலவிட்டுள்ளது. இந்த இடைக்கால வரவு-செலவுத் திட்டத்தில் ரூபாய் 2,135 கோடி ஒதுக்கீடு செய்துள்ளது. நூலகங்கள்”
