“Under the Restructured Accelerated Power Development Programme it has been planned to fulfil the following tasks like establishment of information and data management system, accounting power usage, audit, improving service to consumers along with computerisation and strengthening transmission and distribution infrastructure. The total cost for this scheme is ` 3,847 crores. It has been planned to reduce the transmission and distribution losses to less than 15 percent by the year 2013 in 110 towns where this scheme is proposed to be implemented.”

“மின்சார சேமிப்பை ஊக்குவிப்பதையும்‌, மின்சாரத்தை கொண்டு செல்வதிலும்‌, விநியோகிப்பதிலும்‌ ஏற்படும்‌ இழப்புகளை குறைப்பதற்காகவும்‌, மின்விநியோக அமைப்புகளை மேம்படுத்துவதை, இந்த அரசு முக்கிய பணியாக மேற்கொள்ளும்‌. இத்தகைய மின்‌இழப்பை குறைக்கும்‌ நோக்கத்தோடு, மாற்றியமைக்கப்பட்ட விரைவுபடுத்தப்பட்ட மின்சக்தி வளர்ச்சி, புனணரமைப்புத்‌ திட்டத்தை, தமிழ்நாடு மின்‌ உற்பத்தி, பகிர்மான கழகம்‌ செயல்படுத்தி வருகிறது. மேலும்‌, ஐப்பான்‌ பன்னாட்டு கூட்டுறவு முகமையின்‌ நிதியுதவியோடு, 3,572.93 கோடி ரூபாய்‌ செலவில்‌ மின்‌ பகிர்மான கட்டமைப்பை வலுப்படுத்துவதற்கும்‌ திட்டமிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. மின்‌ திருட்டைக்‌ கட்டுப்படுத்துவதற்காக, முன்னாள்‌ படைவீரர்களைக்‌ கொண்ட 40 குழுக்கள்‌ ஈடுபடுத்தப்பட்டு, இந்த ஆண்டு 17.76 கோடி ரூபாய்‌ மதிப்பிலான மின்திருட்டுகள்‌ கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. மின்சாரத்தை சேமிப்பதற்கான ஒரு முக்கிய முயற்சியாக, 14.62 கோடி ரூபாய்‌ செலவில்‌, 14.62 இலட்சம்‌ குடிசை வீடுகளில்‌ உள்ள இழை பல்புகளுக்கு பதிலாக விலையில்லா சி.எப்‌.எல்‌.
