“தமிழ்நாடு குடிநீர் வடிகால் வாரியத்தின் கீழ் உள்ள, நாற்பது ஆண்டுகளுக்கு மேலான கூட்டுக் குடிநீர்த் திட்டங்களைப் புதுப்பிக்க வேண்டிய தேவை தற்போது எழுந்துள்ளது. டசயல்திறன் குறைந்த பழைய மின் இறைப்பான்கள் மற்றும் குழாய்கள் ஆகியவற்றை மாற்றிடவும், தேவைப்படும் இடங்களில் நீர் ஆதாரங்களைப் புதுப்பித்து கூட்டுக் குடிநீர்த் திட்டங்களை மேம்படுத்தவும், இந்த ஆண்டு 675 கோடி ரூபாய் மதிப்பீட்டில் 102 கூட்டுக் குடிநீர்த் திட்டங்களில் பணிகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்படும். இதன்மூலம், அடுத்த பதினைந்து ஆண்டுகளுக்கு, இத்திட்டப் பகுதிகளில் குடிநீர் வழங்கல் சீராக நடைபெறுவது உறுதி செய்யப்படும்.”
