“ஆபத்தான கால கட்டங்களில் மீனவர்களை எச்சரிக்கை செய்வதற்காக, 48 கோடி ரூபாய் செலவில், 30,000 அவசரகாலத் தகவல் அனுப்பும் கருவிகள் (Distress Alert Transmitters) மீனவர்களுக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. உலக வங்கி நிதியுதவியுடன், 62.14 கோடி ரூபாய் செலவில் தொலைத் தொடர்பு வசதிகளையும், உயர் அதிர்வெண் (VHF) தொடர்பு சாதனங்களையும், அனைத்து மீன்பிடிப் படகுகளுக்கும் வழங்க உரிய நடவடிக்கைகள் தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.”
