“மீன்களை சுகாதாரமான முறையில் கையாளவும், பதப்படுத்தவும் தேவையான வசதிகளை உருவாக்க, நீண்டகாலமாக நிலுவையிலிருந்த நாகப்பட்டினம், பழையாறு ஆகிய மீன்பிடித் துறைமுகங்களில் உள்ள கட்டமைப்பை மேம்படுத்தவும், கடலூர் மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள அன்னன்கோயில், நாகப்பட்டினம் மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள நாகூர், திருமுல்லைவாசல் ஆகிய இடங்களில் புதிய மீன் இறங்குதளம் அமைக்கவும், 102.75 கோடி ரூபாய் மதிப்பீட்டிலான பணிகளை இந்த அரசு தற்போது தொடங்கியுள்ளது. சென்னை மீன்பிடித் துறைமுகத்தை நவீனமயமாக்க, 16 கோடி ரூபாய் மதிப்பீட்டிலான பணிகளும் துவங்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. 2012-2013 ஆம் ஆண்டில் தேசிய மீன் வள மேம்பாட்டு வாரியத்தின் உதவியோடு, 10 கோடி ரூபாய் மதிப்பீட்டில் கடலூர் மீன்பிடித் துறைமுகத்தைத் தரம் உயர்த்தவும் இந்த அரசு நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கும். தூத்துக்குடி, கன்னியாகுமரி மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள சின்னமுட்டம் ஆகிய இடங்களில் உள்ள மீன்பிடித் துறைமுகங்களின் மேம்பாட்டுப் பணிகளும் 2012-2013 ஆம் ஆண்டில் மேற்கொள்ளப்படும். மேலும், நபார்டு வங்கி நிதியுதவியுடன் 50 கோடி ரூபாய் செலவில் ஒன்பது மீன் இறங்கு தளங்கள் மேம்படுத்தப்படும்.”
