“தற்போது, தமிழ்நாட்டில் 1,492 காவல் நிலையங்கள் உள்ளன. இவற்றுள் 282 காவல் நிலையங்கள் வாடகைக் கட்டடங்களில் இயங்கி வருகின்றன. அவற்றில் 92 இடங்களில் புதிய காவல் நிலையக் கட்டடங்கள் கட்டும் பணி நடைபெற்று வருகிறது. பழுதடைந்த, வாடகைக் கட்டடங்களில் இயங்கிவரும் காவல் நிலையங்களுக்காக புதிய கட்டடங்கள் கட்டுவது தேவைக்கேற்ப நடைபெறவில்லை என்பதால் இந்த அரசு இப்பணிகளுக்கான நிதியொதுக்கீட்டை கணிசமாக உயர்த்தி வழங்கும். 2011-2012 ஆம் ஆண்டில் 11 கட்டடங்களைக் கட்டுவதற்கென 4.11 கோடி ரூபாய் ஒதுக்கீடு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. மீதமுள்ள இடங்களில் உரிய இடம் தேர்வு செய்தவுடன் பணிகள் தொடங்கப்படும்.”
