“சிறைகளை நவீனப்படுத்தும் திட்டத்தின் கீழ் நாகர்கோவில், விருதுநகர், இராமநாதபுரம், நாகப்பட்டினம், ஆத்தூர், கோபிசெட்டிபாளையம் ஆகிய கிளைச்சிறைகள் மாவட்ட சிறைச்சாலைகளாகத் தரம் உயர்த்தப்பட்டுள்ளன. திண்டுக்கல், நாகர்கோவில், விருதுநகர், ஆத்தூர் ஆகிய சிறைகளுக்கு ரூபாய் 11 கோடி செலவில் புதிய கட்டடங்கள் கட்டப்பட்டுள்ளன. 500 பெண் சிறைக் கைதிகள் அனுமதிக்கப்படும் வகையில், ரூபாய் 10 கோடி செலவில், திருச்சியில் பெண்களுக்கென, தனிக் கிளைச்சிறை கட்டப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த இடைக்கால வரவு-செலவுத் திட்டத்தில் சிறைத் துறைக்காக ரூபாய் 140 கோடி நிதி ஒதுக்கீடு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. தீயணைப்பு மற்றும் மீட்புப் பணிகள் துறை வரி அல்லாத வருவாய், 2011-2012 ஆம் ஆண்டு இடைக்கால வரவு-செலவுத் திட்டத்தில் ரூபாய் 4,280 கோடியாகும். மொத்த வருவாய் வரவுகளில், மாநிலத்தின் வரி அல்லாத வருவாயின் பங்கு 5.42 சதவீதமேயாகும். வரும் ஆண்டுகளில் இது 3 சதவித அளவிற்கு வளரும் என கணக்கிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. மத்திய வரிகளில் மாநில அரசின் பங்கு:”
